The more things change

If you are one of the unlucky few who have been here before, you'll notice things look a little different. I built this blog using Django, a python web framework that is a genuine pleasure to use. Previously I was using google's Blogger, whereas now I am hosting this on my own server and running my own code. I did this because one person said that they wished they could easily comment on posts, and another person said that they wished they could get email notifications.

Well, really I did this because being able to program is like being able to do sorcery. It blows me away that matter should be capable of performing computation, and that I can understand and manipulate it is an unspeakable gift.

Anyway, you can now easily add your email to a list here, and you can comment on any post without so much as an email. Don't abuse this privilege or I'll have to make an account-based commenting system.

I'm not sure I love how it looks, but I do think it looks better (or at least more fitting) than the old UI, which looked like this:
